FETC: Global is a group of English proficiency tests for showing your level of English, from CEFR levels A1 to C2. You can use it for international study, work, or career progression that does not need a UK visa.
FETC tests are simple, quick, and affordable. They have been designed to make the process of organising your tests and achieving your English language testing goal as intuitive and straightforward as possible.
FETC: Global is available either through our global network of secure test centres, or with the convenience of ‘at home’ testing with online proctoring.
FETC: Global is available to take both in our network of PSI test centres across 120 different countries, or via Online Proctoring, which allows the test to be taken in the convenience of your own home. PSI’s market-leading online proctoring solution offers an alternative to traditional on-site testing whilst maintaining test security.

FETC: Global tests are mapped to internationally-recognised CEFR English language skill levels, so test takers can choose the test level and skills they require: either two skills (speaking and listening) at levels A1-B1; or four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) at levels B1- C2. This means test takers know they are preparing for, and taking, precisely the level of test needed for their chosen goal – no more, no less.
All FETC tests use computer-based delivery throughout for all skills. Reading and listening are automatically marked during the test session itself; speaking and writing are recorded digitally during the test session and marked by trained assessors (who have no visibility of the test taker’s personal details) after the test is finished. This means test takers can move through each of the skills sections in turn in a single session and receive results in as little as 3-5 days.

“SQA Assured” means that SQA have undertaken an audit of Skills for English: Global test content and PSI’s assessment development processes and are satisfied that the tests and the processes are aligned to SQA’s principles set out in the SQA Awarding Body Code of Practice (published March 2017).
